The Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club is proud to host the 2008 Canadian Olympic Trials on May 3 & 4, 2008. The races will start at 9:00 am and run throughout the day with a 2 hour lunch break. The last race should be over around 4 pm. This is an opportunity to see the top Canadian paddlers compete for an opportunity to progress on towards a spot on the Olympic team. The event is free and a concession stand will be available on site.

ADULT LEARN TO KAYAK

Sessions will include 4 coached lessons, where participants will learn basic paddling skills, water safety, and gain exposure to many different boats.  The lessons will be taught in a relaxed, fun atmosphere that stresses the enjoyment of the lake in a healthy, environmentally friendly way.

Sessions will only run if we have 6 participants registered into the session.  If we do not have 6 participants registered we reserve the right to combine sessions to make a full group.  Each session therefore needs a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 10 registered participants.

COME TRY IT!

‘Come Try It’ is a great way to get people out and trying out the sport, with relative ease.  This program gives the public the opportunity to get out and try the equipment.  Participants received an introductory lesson, which attempts to tempt them back again!  Come Try It runs on Sunday’s during the Summer months.

Please see the Calendar for dates and times for Come Try It in 2008.

RENTALS

Rentals are a great way to get people out and involved in the sport with not much commitment.  Rentals give people the opportunity to come out to the facility, try out the equipment and the sport, and enjoy the lake without any real commitment.

To schedule a Rental please contact the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club Office at 770-287-7888 or you can email www.laniercanoekayak@gmail.com.

MOONLIGHT PADDLES

What better way to enjoy the lake then in the Moonlight?  Every Full moon, the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club will host a Moonlight Paddle that is free to all LCKC members and $15 for all non-members.  A professional instructor will lead all group paddles.  This is your chance to get a different look at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue.  Come out and enjoy the camaraderie and tranquil scenery.
