Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club offers a Dragon Boat club membership for those who are interested in a longer-term training program. LCKC is a feeder program of the United States National Dragon Boat Team.

In fact, many LCKC paddlers have competed in the World Dragon Boat Championships since 2010 – including 29 athletes who were a part of Team USA for the ICF World Championships team, many of whom took Gold.

The club also participates in regional regattas.  In 2019, LCKC SuperDragons swept each race attended, including the one of the largest races in the SE USA at Lake Hernando, FL.

Membership includes two practices per week and the opportunity to race in an LCKC boat.  Practices are held March 1st to October 31st, 2017, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 on Saturdays. Membership for the team is only $250.

The 2,000 year old sport of Dragon Boat paddling is both an entry level activity and high-performance racing. That means literally almost anyone can do it!

We offer people from ages 10-100 an opportunity to aspire to a higher level of competitiveness and teamwork unlike most other paddle sports, or any sport for that matter. A team, working hard, in harmony as one, sharing a goal.

LCKC offers a range of opportunities for both serious and recreational dragon boat paddlers. Dragon boats accommodate 10 or 20 paddlers, a drummer to keep beat, and a trained steersman/coach.

Dragon Boat Corporate Team Building is one of the most enjoyable and satisfying ways to get your Corporate team out of the office while learning to become a close working unit. Our Team Building facilitator has decades of experience training adults in a corporate setting and on the water.

Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club hosts the annual Gainesville Hall Dragon Boat Challenge, a fund-raising event for our local Special Olympics programs.  Sign your team up to vie for the William Scott Crain Memorial Overall Champion Award!

Please contact us so that we may put together a special program for you.  Your team is guaranteed not to forget a customized event for your corporate team, church group, or a pack of friends!
